TAJ (Amman)

The Arabian Journal (TAJ) is made up of 2 MCs from Amman, Niz-R and Ram-E, who linked up in 2007 to collaborate on a song for a highschool graduation. Both MCs had grown up writing poetry and had been strongly influenced by the Palestinian group DAM, whom they heard on the Internet. In 2008, Niz-R was invited to perform in Ramallah and asked Ram-E to join him, at which point they decided to form the group TAJ. Though one of the youngest groups on the Middle East scene, they’ve already gained considerable attention around the region and have performed extensively throughout Jordan, including an appearance on a popular TV show. TAJ is now working on their highly-anticipated debut album, which may feature a song with their mentors, DAM.

Natural poets, Niz-R and Ram-e can’t help spittin rhymes wherever they are. This video is a preview of their new song “Meen Be2dar/Who Can Handle It?” and shows the boys’ youthfulness.

On a layover in Amman on their way to the Dubai Film Festival, DAM stops by Niz-R’s crib to school the young guns. And school them they do. But Ram-E finishes the cipher strong.
