Soon after Hip Hop blew up in New York, it found its way overseas, first to the UK, France, and Germany, and then to the rest of Europe. In the 2 decades since, Hip Hop has become the most popular form of youth-made music and has created opportunities for artists from poor and marginalized communities, such as Muslim immigrants from North Africa and the Middle East, to express their frustration with socioeconomic conditions and political trends.
